Mental Health Professional or Mental Health Clinical Trainee - Intensive Treatment in Foster Care (ITFC) 

Therapeutic Services Agency, Inc (TSA) seeks to employ a part time or full time Mental Health Clinical Trainee or Licensed Mental Health Professional to assist with the provision of Intensive Treatment in Foster Care (ITFC) to children and teens in their foster homes. Service provision will also include individual and family therapy, Diagnostic Assessment, and coaching support to foster parents.  Work assignment will be made in geography area designated and mutually agreed to including one or two of the counties:  Pine, Kanabec, Isanti and Chisago.  Sessions may be provided in foster family and birth family homes, and site based at TSA offices located in Cambridge, Lindstrom, North Branch, Pine City. 

Qualifications Required:  Master degreed mental health clinical trainee (on licensure track toward LMFT, LPCC, LICSW, LP) or licensed in MN as a mental health professional, is trained in Trauma  Focused-CBT or interested in becoming trained in this evidence based practice (TSA will support training).

Qualities preferred:  Knowledgeable about foster care, the County Social Services mental health and Child Protection service systems, experienced in working with family systems, childhood mental health, clinical care coordination skills, case management, crises response service, and service documentation in Electronic Health Record. Client engagement skills, flexibility, organizational skills, time management skills, collegial collaboration skills highly desired.

Mental Health Practitioner or Clinical Trainee - Contract with Lakes and Pines Community Action Council North Branch, MN 

Therapeutic Services Agency, Inc (TSA) seeks to employ a part time Mental Health Practitioner to assist with mental health consultations and assessments to assist in engaging adults in service provision to promote health, well-being, and housing stability. The person in this position will support staff at Lakes and Pines Community Action Council to implement grant funding from the MN DHS to optimize outcomes for persons participating in housing support services. This is an employment opportunity with TSA and the selected person will be assigned via contract between TSA and Lakes and Pines CAC to bring a lens of mental health to the work Lakes and Pine’s staff are doing with persons needing housing support.  The work will be site based in the North Branch Lakes and Pines office and include home visits in the surrounding communities.  This is a part time position (2 days a week) with potential for additional work assignment in other program(s) at TSA if full-time employment is desired. 

Qualifications Required:  Bachelor’s degree and/or enrolled in a Master’s program in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or related field.  Knowledge base about adult mental health, mental health problems, chemical dependency, poverty; and professional collaboration skills are valued for this position.  Optimal candidate will be a Clinical Trainee (on track for licensure in MN) and have competencies in conducting Diagnostic Assessments.

Mental Health Therapist for Deaf & Hard of Hearing Program Southwest Region of Minnesota

Therapeutic Services Agency, Inc. (TSA) has been providing mental health expertise and evidenced based practices in the spirit of innovation and excellence since 1978. TSA added the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program 3 years ago to provide culturally affirmative and language specific services to address the mental health needs of children who are deaf, deafblind, or hard of hearing. We are looking for a full-time mental health therapist who is proficient in ASL, has in-depth knowledge of Deaf culture, and an understanding of communication barriers, to join our staff. We currently provide these services to children and their families across Northern Minnesota and are now expanding our services to the Southwest Region of Minnesota.  

Responsibilities include providing an array of mental health services to our clients such as diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, individual therapy, family therapy, individual skills, and family skills.  This position is also responsible for promoting and marketing the program; and for providing presentations to community groups, at professional conferences, and to school staff about the benefits of culturally affirmative, language specific mental health services to children who are deaf, deafblind, or hard of hearing.  This is an itinerant position and requires the therapist to live in the Southwest Region of Minnesota. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) 
  • Master’s Degree
  • Licensed Mental Health Professional or license eligible.
  • In-depth knowledge of Deaf culture

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive clinical diagnostic assessment, individual and family psychotherapy, and clinical management to address emotional, behavioral and mental health issues of child, adolescent and young adult program participants
  • Participate in case consultation and provide input to client’s treatment plan and direction
  • Complete all related clinical documentation for assigned clients in a professional and timely fashion
  • Willingness to be flexible in providing services to clients and their families in various community locations and in the client's home
  • Participate in regularly scheduled program staff meetings
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

Education/Experience Required:

  • Master's Degree.
  • In-depth knowledge of Deaf culture, language deprivation and its effects, and communication barriers and accommodations for individuals who are deaf, deafblind, or hard of hearing.
  • Must either be professionally licensed or license eligible in Minnesota as a LICSW, LP, LMFT, or LPCC.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written English and in ASL.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population of individuals by using tact, diplomacy, and flexibility.
  • 2 years of clinical practice serving children and adolescents with Emotional Disturbance and Severe Emotional Disturbance and their families.
  • Ability to problem-solve and work independently.
  • Working knowledge of various computer platforms including, word processing, spreadsheet, database entry, presentation software, and video conferencing.
  • Must have reliable transportation, hold a valid driver’s license, and maintain current auto insurance.

Education/Experience Preferred:

  • 2 years of experience in providing mental health services to children, adolescents and families
  • Experience working or interacting with individuals who are deaf
  • Experience with diverse populations
  • Understanding of Trauma Informed Care
  • Trained in a specific trauma treatment models (TF-CBT, EMDR, MAP)
  • Trained in working with early childhood mental health, DC 0-5 training
  • Trained in play therapy or willingness to work with young children

Therapeutic Services Agency, Inc is seeking additional Mental Health Practitioners (Bachelor degree, with experience under the supervision of a Licensed Mental Health Professional or enrolled in Master's program) to provide in-home skills training to children and families in the East Central MN area (Pine, Chisago, Isanti, Anoka Counties) and in the Twin Cities Metro area. Services are provided in families' homes and case assignments are made for locations within about 45-mile radius of staff's home. Candidate must have qualifications as a mental health provider in MN (Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family therapy or related field). Position involves evening and some day work, driving to families' homes and ability to work independently as well as part of a professional team.
