Assessments

Therapeutic Services Agency, Inc provides Diagnostic Assessments, Psychological Evaluations and Specialized Assessments. Diagnostic assessments are required before a client can receive mental health services as they assist with determining therapeutic treatment needs and eligibility for specific services. Psychological Evaluations provide a more in-depth assessment of a client's emotional, behavioral & psychological presentation. The Specialized Assessments TSA provides focus on the needs of the children in the context of a family unit.
Diagnostic Assessments
Therapeutic Services Agency, Inc provides Diagnostic Assessment (DA) services to assist with: determining therapeutic treatment needs, eligibility for specific services based on requirements such as Children’s Mental Health Case Management Services, Children’s Therapeutic Services and Supports, and case planning. The DA involves a face-to-face clinical interview with the client and clinician for the purpose of determining the diagnosis and treatment recommendations. The DA is generally completed at the first appointment and involves 1-2 hours of clinical interviewing. The clinical information gathered for the DA by the clinician covers and assesses the following domains:
- Client’s current life situation and sources of stress
- Completion of the psychosocial history
- Identification of the client’s strengths/weaknesses
- Mental status review
- Risk assessment
- An assessment summary with the client related areas of impairment in functioning and treatment recommendations
- The DA concludes with a written report and includes a diagnosis from the Diagnostic and Statistic Manual of Mental Health Disorders (DSM 5)
Psychological Evaluations
TSA offers psychological evaluation services for children, adolescents, and adults. Psychological evaluations involve a process of testing that uses a combination of techniques to help arrive at some hypotheses about a person and their behavior, personality and capabilities. The primary benefit of obtaining an evaluation is gaining a better understanding of the underlying issues which are affecting the person, so that specific and individually-tailored recommendations can be made regarding intervention and treatment.
